Dilip Kumar “Dili”

Dilip Kumar is a perpetual rebel stationed at the Ashram. He is a member of the Ashram Samiti and of the Executive Comittee. A poet and a philosopher Dilip Kumar stands steadfast with the oppressed without compromise in word or in deed. Since his student days in Banaras Hindu University Dilip Kumar has been associated with radical formations like Gatividhi Vichar Manch, Samajwadi Jan Parishad and the Congresses on Traditional Sciences and Technology of India. For years he has travelled through the villages and forests of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam and Nepal, meeting people, living with them and dialoguing with them. He knows how to dialogue with people from a wide variety, sanatan to aghor panthy. These dialogues for him are characteristically the places where contemporary political radicalism needs to engage with selfless radical thought. Dilip Kumar has been an important organizer of various activities of the Ashram like Knowledge Dialogue, Bhaichara Vidyalaya , Kala Sadhana and Chintan Dhaba (Thinkers’café).
