Mohammad Aleem is the founder member of the Ashram who has been with the activities since 1990. Coming from a poor artisanal background, he is a tailor. He has been active in infra-structure development at the Ashram. Mohammad Aleem is aware of every nook and corner of the city of Varanasi and has been a valuable contact person for the artisans of Varanasi in the Lokavidya movement. He was an active member of the team that travelled deep into the forests of Sarguja searching for traditional iron smelting furnaces and organising the agariya community. He was also an active member of the team that organized the Lokavidya Mahadhiveshan.
